Recycling with a Fee

Some electronics require a fee for recycling due to hazardous materials

  • CRT/LCD Monitors: $10
  • CRT or ‘Tube’ Televisions: $20
  • Flat-screen (LCD/Plasma) Televisions: $20
  • Projection Televisions: $40
  • Console Television: $40

TV/Monitor Recycling Programs

Christian County, IL

Residents can recycle all accepted items free of charge, with no limits on quantity* or type.

*Note: A 12+ Large-item limit per day still applies

Springfield, IL

Qualified Residents can recycle up to 3 TVs or monitors per household, per calendar year, for free.

Jacksonville, IL

Qualified Residents can recycle up to 2 TVs or monitors per household, per calendar year, for free.

These programs reflect our commitment to making recycling accessible and convenient for our community. If your area doesn’t have a recycling program, we encourage you to contact your local city or county office to inquire about joining our Takeback Program. Together, we can expand these valuable services and contribute to a more sustainable future.

  • Appliances
  • Adhesives, Paints, Chemicals of any kind
  • Aerosol cans
  • Alkaline Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, etc…)
  • Audio and Video Media (8Track/LaserDisc/Cassette/VHS/CD/DVD/HD-DVD/BluRay)
  • Bathroom devices (ie. electric razors, toothbrushes, etc.)
  • Carbon Monoxide/Smoke detectors
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Gas Powered Tools
  • General rubbish
  • Glass
  • Lamps/Light bulbs and Lava Lamps
  • Live ammunition
  • Mercury Thermometers
  • Microwaves, toasters, and other small kitchen appliances
  • Needles of any sort
  • Pre-lit Christmas trees
  • Pressurized canisters of any kind
